Video: testing WW2 German and Soviet exploding sniper ammo

    Holy crap.

I remember reading about this in Sepp Allerberger's book, but thought he was talking about API or something, but this stuff is real, and scary.

InRange TV performs an interesting test on WWII exploding ammunition. Both German and Russian snipers were authorized to use explosive spotter-type rifle ammunition on human targets. Watch their video below to see how effective they really were compared to standard ball ammunition. http://videos.full30.com/bitmotive/public/full30/v1.0/videos/inrange/82efb579fd3c93d177205966ef3d3c9d/854x480.mp4

I believe they called this stuff dumb dumb ammo back in the day. I am thinking it would work good on ISIS.

I just finished Allerbergers book, how timely.

        Thanks.

kurac that is not correct. Dum Dum bullets refers to expanding bullets.

I've got no sound on that vid, anybody else have the problem?

Horrific effects, it turns a regular rifle into a personal howitzer. Alright...maybe that's giving it too much credit but it's the end of the road for whoever gets hit by that projectile.

OK, I just got it to work. (FireFox)
                        Well worth the effort.

Wow that is some powerful ammo!

It makes regular soft point / hollow point / expanding ammo seem like a joke.
Imagine this in .380 or 9mm handgun self-defense ammo.
                        Talk about pocket artillery!

Interesting in that "holy sheet" kind of way.
Not knowing many military guys, what's the general thought on the prohibition of hollow point ammo in the military?
The combover guy at the end of the video questions the sense it makes to limit the effect on ammo when you're trying to kill the enemy.
