Question about my 1895 Springfield 30-40

First, she is a model 1894 Springfield 30-40 Krag manufactured in 1895. I just had it all parkerized a few months back, and man does she look pretty! Now for my question... Does anyone know if there is a way to mount a scope on this gun? I'd really like to do some long range shooting with it. I know most of you are way more knowledgeable about these things than I am so I appreciate anyone taking their time to answer my question.

Edit: Added pics. Had to put two in comments because i don't know how to add more than one pic to the thread. Forgive me

Was it already sporterized before you got it?

What's your definition of "long range"?
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Anything further than 100 yards is what I want to shoot.

Nice looking rifle. It's unfortunate there's so much negative feeling towards those sporterized rifles.

While preserving original, unaltered examples is important; those sporterized rifles are also an important part of 20th century history.

There was a time building a rifle to hunt with was a pretty important endeavor. It was also the only way many young men (very rarely women) could own a 'custom' rifle.

                      Thanks for posting yours.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

My krag was drilled for weaver side mounts -- N-2 I think -- may still be some out there --

Griffin & Howe made a nice quick detachable Krag side mount too.

At least whoever sporterized it put it in a decent looking stock.

Plenty of sporter Krags look like bubba had a hacksaw handy after drinking too much moonshine, but this one is decent looking.
