Went shooting yesterday at my local Socal range. There was a father & son next to us that had a modified Hex. Stock, trigger, etc. They asked if I wanted to try it compared to my stock 91/30. The first shot felt great, The trigger was very smooth.
The problem was the second shot. when I pulled the trigger I was hit in the face with a wave of heat & particles. I later saw the spent case which looked like it had a letter T in the side where it split. Has anybody heard of this happening? I wish I would have got a picture of the case & the lot # of the ammunition which I think was factory Hornaday, but I wasn't thinking too clearly at this point.
The only other thing is now I'm going to get some goggles because my glasses didn't keep a lot of the powder out of my eyes. I have a Dr appt later today to dig all the rest or the junk out.
