Help with valuing M1917

Thinking of trading this with a member here. Not sure what the current values are. It is a Remington made in 1918. For its age it looks to be in very good condition with all Remington parts that I can see. Only downside is the bore is frosted but with strong rifling. I understand this is a common issue with many 1917s. Rifle was purchased from CMP around 10 years ago.

What are you looking at trading it for? Not sure what the average price is but the "Asking prices" for these are all over the place on Gunbroker.

Do you still have the CMP tag with the muzzle and throat measurements? If not, as long as it isn't swallowing bullets at the muzzle and the crown is in good shape the frosting shouldn't hurt it's value. If the stock and metal are in good shape and everything is good working order, I would think it is value is at least $600 -$800.

Asking and selling prices on GunBroker vary widely. It seems most un-bubba'd rifles are going for $600 plus.

Eddystone's tend to go for a bit less with Remington and Winchester seeming to command a slight premium.

Eddystone sold for $595 in April.

I bought this Eddystone in March off GunBroker for less than anything I see for sale now. Very nice rifle with a mis-matched bolt but has a nice bore and she's a fine shooter.

For an unmolested M1917, $600 is a starting point and up from there.
