Much depends on the barrel condition and your intentions.

Replacement 1917 stocks are rarer and more expensive than the 1903 and 03A3 stocks.

The main reason I would buy it, is I picked up a stock years ago with an estate collection I acquired. It's supposedly matching with a good bore. Asking $350 OBO FTF. I'm offering $325 delivered to my FFL. PAX

Is that a scope mount mounted to the original sight base? No D&T?

Do you know the manufacturer (Eddystone, Remington, or Winchester?)

Seems a little high, but not outrageous. Less so if it is a Remington or Winchester--they seem to be a little more sought after.

The stock I have is missing one hand guard, or I put it some where, but I think it will be the only way for me to afford to add to my meager collection. It look to be salvageable. PAX

Sarco has new M1917 handguards if you can't find yours. The price is pretty decent too.

Bubba strikes again, and in this case strikes hard. $300 tops. Worth it if you have a stock set.

I can visualize some gunsmith in the 1950's charging a premium to hack up and "improve" all those fine old milsurps. Sad.

Bubba got mine. Cut about two inches off the barrel, took rear site off and mounted scope mounts, hacked the stock up. yaaaaaa
