Does anyone know of a gunsmith that works on broomhandle Mausers? I have a Model 1896 I'm having trouble with.

Check online or SGN for The Broomcloset out of Stark, Florida. I had them refurbish an old 1930 commercial model for me a few years back. A great gun, good work, good prices, but sometimes a bit slow...

I'd call Mike at Krausewerks in San Mateo and ask him who he recommends.

The Yahoo Broomhandle group speaks highly of the Broom Closet, for which I was not successful at finding a website (may not be one) but did find direct contact info:

I haven't used him yet, but reviews on his work seem positive and the before/after pics on his site look very good. I had to put my broomhandle restoration on hold as I've spent WAAAAY too much money this year on other things that go boom! I've read mixed reviews on The Broomcloset in Florida. Seems the quality of the work drops sometimes, but still, more positive-than-not from customers.

                gunsmith

Genecco Gunworks in Stockton is very good. He is not cheap and is very busy. I think he closes up every December just to catch up, equipment maintainence and still not catch up. I take all my USPSA guns to him.
