    Latest CMP M1's

I just got another Service Grade on order, wanted to pick everybody's brains and see what they got within the last 6 months from the CMP. Share pics if you've got them Also, anybody know the country of reimport as of now? I know there were some Danish ones floating round in the sea of Greeks for awhile, wanting to know what's current. Thanks!

The last order I had come was a SG IHC gap with LMR barrel.....she's a beauty. Sorry, no picture.

These were what the CMP would sell as specials....

My14 year old son and I did the advanced maintenance class....his garand is on the bottom. On this same trip I hand picked a NM garand from the south store. What I can tell you is....during the tours of the warehouses, there was a lot of empty space! There were still a ton of crated rifles, but the supply is dwindling. Of all the Garands, Carbines and .22's I've gotten from CMP over the years, I've never been let down. I don't think you'll be sorry either....

I came along to the CMP game well after they stopped selling M1 Carbines, but I did get one just last week from a private party sale, certificate included. IBM computer gun!

My only personally bought CMP Garand is an HRA Special, spectacular but no help to the OP as far as Service Grades. The Service Grade CMP Garand I bought back in 2013 was sorta meh on the condition and I sold it before cash & carry ended.

I ended up buying a dozen when Service Grade was closer to today's Correct Grade and they were only 450 ...........don't care much for the new wood and new barrels, half were WW2 numbers and half highest serial numbers available, barrels and stocks are like new..........turned into a pretty good investment too.
Wish I had been as aggressive with the 1903 and Carbines, only 3-4 of each.

CMP has been very good to me

Jarhead that is awesome. Would love to see pics of those. I concluded recently that AmericaN C&R's are worth the price premium over comblock guns.

The ones right now are probably some mix of returns from Greece and Turkey.

My most recent one was just before the CA law changed so you need a C&R/COE to get them shipped direct, whenever that was. Really nice service grade. USGI wood. Shot it today, coincidentally.

I always figure if I get one that doesn't thrill me, they're easy enough to flip. There's always somebody who's too lazy to buy from the CMP and if you don't try to gouge they sell really fast.

Just received a SA service grade, 1942 receiver, '43 barrel and new cmp wood. Wish it had usgi wood but is still very nice...

I got 2 service grades in the last few months - both WWII receivers with either new wood or no-name stock and non-original barrels. No cosmoline in them at all.

Not like they once were, but I was happy to have them as vintage shooters. Dunno if it makes sense to think you will be getting a real collector gun from CMP outside the auction. I was happy to have them shipped to my door with my C&R and COE.

If you are planning on era wood, do your research and buy them as soon as you find them because they are getting harder to find and getting really pricy.
