I told myself no more rifles for awhile, but I got bored yesterday and "accidentally" ended up on the Simpsons site. Saw this rifle and realized I just had to have it.

The pictures and detailed descriptions on their website are like catnip. Add to that, the fact that the salesman goes and gets it for you while you're on the phone and will answer any questions you might have in real time.

Found out this one has a #1 bolt head and that sealed it for me.

I have a beautiful Longbranch No. 4 but it just doesn't shoot as well as I would like it to, and consequently I never take it out anymore.

This one has a much nicer bore and SHOULD be a bit more accurate. I figure, I can sell that scope for $200 - $250, the mount for maybe $50, and then sell my Longbranch for a few hundred bucks. That means I really didn't spend that much guys....right? Right????

That is a nice catch. I'm not an Enfield expert but it seems like a deal for $650 with the nice glass.

It is a fair deal I think. I prefer a blonde stock on a No 4. I have no use for that scope but those low power scopes are going like hotcakes lately. Everyone has ditched red dots for these low power scopes on their ARs so I figure I can sell it quick. The mount might take longer but I have time.
Popperts has the milled sight with all of the little parts for around $50.

If I don't like the cheekpiece I will remove it and fill the holes. If I like it...I will keep it on. Mostly looking for a shooter.

Wow that is a nice one. I also have had items snatched out from under me at Simpsons. One problem is that you have to wait until 8am to call them......usually by that time I am working and I have to steal a moment between jobs to call.

Nice pick up Bainter, it looks like it's in great condition. I know its not correct for the rifle but you should try it out with the scope, you might like it. I have a Leupold VX-1 on my K31 and the optics are crystal clear.

That CadTechnik "no gunsmithing" mount is a good catch. Very solid, much better than those "set screw" types. I bought one & used it for a bit, then went with the Numrich Arms sniper repro set up. BTW, Numrich has just dropped the price of the Enfield sniper scope by $100.00 ......

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I may in fact give that scope a try, although it looks like it is sitting awfully high.

Does anybody know what would be the correct sling for these later Korean era rifles? Were they still using the khaki canvas slings?
