So I was perusing my LGS today and picked this up because it more closely resembles the wear on my IHC Garand upper hand guards compared to the bizarre military replacement stock that came on it. The replacement stock that came on it smelled truly bizarre. Anyway, I am curious what type of stock it is and what it may have gone on. It has a military cheek rest which is pretty neat and immediately made me think M1c/M1d. Though it could have gone on anytime I suppose. That being said I don't believe i have seen them held on with brass screws before, though that isn't saying much. As I haven't seen many on rifles. Anyway pictures to follow and let me know what you think. There is no evidence of cartouches on the side though it does have the un-serif'd proof P and those on the nose.
