    CMP! First ORDER!! Wooohoo

I mailed off my first order to the CMP today. I finally jumped through all the required hoops to get my very own American workhorse. I went ahead and ordered a Springfield M1 garand. I hope it is every bit the great experience that everyone seems to have had getting a rifle from them. I suppose all I have to do now is just WAIT.... Well it was at least very exciting to finally put the order in the mail box. It was a little victory for me. Well I hope I get a real jem. How have your guys orders gone with them? Any good stories??

Congrats man, what grade did you order?

I had a chat with a local range master who went and ordered from athe CMP for the first time a correct grade Garand - they shipped him a collector grade with a tiger striped stock, talk about cool

My HRA orders have been very nice shooters with at least 1MOA accuracy, my last order for my manager was a HRA that came with all the correct parts and serial numbers apparently.

My main advice = be patient.

CMP takes good care of people. Hopefully you get a WWII SA receiver. I got a nice 1942 SG SA and a SG HRA that is close to correct. So I'm happy with my CMP purchases.

I ordered a Service Grade. It's all I can afford. Almost maxes out my credit card! :-)
              Totally worth it.

Next on the list is an Inland SG carbine.
              Then PU 91/30

I remember the days of Garands for under 295, and I'm only 22 lol. CMP has been good to me. Ordered 4 Garands from them and 6 Carbines. I'll be putting my name in the hat for the upcomming winnies so we'll see.
The last service grade I bought (HRA) ended up being an all correct. I couln't for the life of me understand why they graded it service (MW 1 TE 1.5, everything correct including wood) but I ended up with a gem there.

I love my service grade SA Garand, she's a very nice piece. Got her last summer, nicer than I thought (a work of art) and shoots real well

Have a few SG Carbines from them as well, mix-masters with nice metal, stocks needed swaping out for my liking and are fun rifles.

CMP does a good job IMHO.

Also, as RaceDay mentioned.... be patient and don't check e-store for quite some time

And as quagmiles stated, grab some ammo from them if you can afford a bit, they usually are very nice on pricing.

Take care and congrats on a CMP purchase, you won't regret it.

I got extremely lucky. There was a special run of 200 rifles - HRA Special. They went on the website on 10/31 (Friday) and were probably sold out by Monday 11/3 or at the latest Tuesday 11/4.

I had been thinking about buying for a long time, kept checking the website and then one morning the specials were there. Talk about fortune!

                            M1 Garand, HRA Special
Please allow 30-60 days for delivery
HRA correct metal in excellent almost new condition. Walnut stocks and handguards. Stocks, handguards and associated metal hardware are NEW manufacture, NOT original HRA manufacture.

I know which one you're talking about - he showed me it as well. Awesome piece and a really nice guy.

This is why I ordered one from CMP
