Well, not the first shots, but they are my first shots
This rifle is a rush to shoot. Recoil is really not bad, just a firm push as you can see. My shirt is basically one layer of ripstop polycotton and it didn't leave any bruising.
This thing really got my heart beating like no other gun I own. I'm starting to 'get' why this is so loved by current and previous owners. I had to slow my pace and think about my breathing when I started to miss. I love both the Garand and Carbine, so very happy with the purchase
Also got to try the Carbine, though it's not on video. Managed a 4" group seated at 80 yards with the Carbine and about 3.5" with the Garand. Both guns came to me sighted in perfectly, hitting right where that front post was placed. The Carbine has a light push, but would be new shooter friendly in my opinion. My Dad remembered shooting the Garands in OCS and boot camp back in the 60s. He said there were more guys in his day that were drafted and never shot a gun a day in their life. It made me realize another benefit to switching to the M16 / M4, it's arguably easier for a new shooter to learn on and be proficient with.
My Dad was nice enough to film me with my iPhone. That 30-06 smacks the **** out of that AR500. With the pistols, my dad can't hear the plates with his hearing but could with these rifles.
I could hear the ping, but it doesn't come through over the shot and steel hit

I'm assuming these are shots on paper for scoring?
