    Just wondering ....

Are all black powder rifles considered C&Rs or just those older than 50 years?

Just wondering because my newest manufacture firearm happens to be a flintlock and it would seem ironic that all the rest would be 'curios or relics' when they use modern ammunition.

If you're referring to a front stuffer black powder rifle, no they are not C&R, they are like an antique and not considered a firearm. That is why they can be shipped to your door.

A rifle that shoots a black powder cartridge may be an antique, but it depends on when it was manufactured and may require registration.

The rifle in question is a Hatfield .50 "squirrel" (yeah, right) rifle. Bought it back in the '80s and used once for deer hunting (successfully).

        Not C & R, Like antique.

I have a Hatfield .50 percussion, great rifle for semi-production gun.

As long as it uses loose powder and projectile, and not a self-contained cartridge (i.e. "fixed ammunition), it is not considered a firearm.
