But as you can see, you can get the crates for $20-40 most of the time. It doesn't make sense to pay a premium for bad rifles just to get the cheap wooden box they come in.

I would probably be in for a rifle if they are indeed unrefurbished rifles, and preferably a Tula hex. Got my 03 FFL and COE for the 10 day wait exemption ready, too.

However, judging from the Mosin displayed on their site and from what I can tell, they look like they are refubs with the square diagonal line-through-box cartouche.

They only allow local pickup and are in an EST time zone. You got me all excited for nuthin'! Yeah, you are totally right about the cheap box, but I want one too. It will drive my wife nuts.

I can't say as I blame people for wanting the crates. I just think there are better ways of getting them.
