    InterestingP38 accessory C&R

It states that it's an East German designed accessory, based on the WW2 design. -
Quite fun - nope you can't import them - The Brits won't send anything deactivated out of their country.

The Chapter in Otto Skorzeny's biography on how he convinced German high command to start work on the suppressor idea is interesting, he fired a captured supressed Sten in their office - it worked and they were suitably convinced.

Theoretically this would have been the design that came out of that meeting - or maybe just more self serving folklore, Skorzeny certainly was a master of many things, self aggrandizing story telling, too.

It is a clever design, because if you pull forward on the suppressor when firing at close range, the slide will not unlock.
This makes no sense to me. How could anything on the barrel stop the slide from moving?

On the P-38, I believe the barrel has to move rearward to unlock the breech locking block.

the barrel has to move back a few millimeters in order to unlock the gun. the extra weight of the supressor could mess with the function.

same type of set up, Fails to feed and fails to eject and fails to lock the slide to the rear within one magazine.
