    Swede Mauser

After letting my C&R lapse several years ago (Herb at Century cried for a week) I saw one that looked interesting in the LGS. Looks like it was made in 1913. Beautiful wood. Metal not too bad. I would like to post a range report but I still haven't found any local ammo for it that is not arm+leg.

Would be interested to know more about these. I got the Hickock 45 Tennessee online education version but feel free to tell me more about these things.

Gorgeous. I really miss mine. They are probably the best made Mauser as far as construction materials and fit finish. They are super smooth too.
This is good stuff and the shipping is good if you get 3-4 boxes. I reload and the brass is real good for reloading.
Graf & Sons, the reloading authority, has a wide selection of reloading supplies, shooting supplies, ammo and more.

    What did it cost you?

The stock disks may not reflect the over all condition of the barrel. If the inside of the barrel is shiny with pronounced rifling, you should have a rifle more capable than you are. SGAmmo and Aim Surplus have PPU Soft Points. 139 grain. Cost is about .75 cents a round. Brass is awesome for reloading. I get MOA with PPU ammo in my 1905 96/38. Your mileage may vary. By the way, I have seen many barrels marked three that were still were impressive shooters. Worst case scenario is a new barrel purchase from Walter Lothier to return the rifle to legendary accuracy.

Nice looking rifle, congrats. It looks like there is a bit of tiger striping on the stock, quite the bonus in my book.

          Really beautiful walnut stock.

Thanks to the fact that American shooters have finally caught on to the advantages of 6.5 mm cartridges (260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5X284, etc) there are a lot of great 6.5 mm bullets for reloading. And IMR 4350 works great in my Swede. Just about everything is sub-moa when I have the 4X scout scope on it, other than 85 gr varmint bullets (short bullet with a long lead chamber = lots of freebore).

          Regards,

Nice stock on that old gal.
Lots of interesting info on the Swedish Mauser. http://dutchman.rebooty.com/

I bought some Privi Partisan ammo that was pretty consistent. I am now reloading the brass using Hornady and Nossler 140gr bullets with Reloader 22.
