    Lefty Flint lock

When I was a kid, the nuns had a hard time getting me to read and do book reports until I found Joseph Altshelers books on the indian wars of the 1700s. Five rangers in the stories and I was spell bound by them and have always loved the flint lock Kentucky rifles.
Just cruising the net and found LSB Investments put up a beautiful left hand fainter copy of a Isaac Haines .45 caliber rifle on Auction arms. It's just stunning. I may have to break a promise to my wife and that could cost me.

Nice gun. If it doesn't go over my budget, I might just have to bid on it. I've got a LH .50 FL but, I'd love to have that one too!

I'm a sucker for them. Chambers kits of for $1000 or so. Klein is a respected builder. Nice job on that one.

A fun series to watch on Youtube is the 1990's BBC series "Sharpe's Rifles". That got me in the mood for flintlocks.

Thanks. These guns are really big on the east coast where they are a very important part of the history. Kind of like our Old west guns. Our exposure out here mostly starts with the heavier trapper Hawkens, Leymans etc. It's all fun.
I wish my hands were in good shape so I could indulge and make one. Did it in college but that was a LONG time ago. heh. Track of the Wolf is a great site for these rifles. j
