    Nine M1 Carbines at CMP

Although I own the M1 Carbine I wanted (private party purchase Feb. 2013) and don't know how to justify another (I'm not really a collector), I know that many here in this Forum might still want one.

At the moment, on the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) website, there are nine being auctioned, ranging from 3 to 10 days left in each case. Prices currently range from $556 up to $2,251. The latter is an Inland paratrooper. CMP puts up a pretty good set of quality pictures of each item being auctioned. Fun to look at.

I think most would agree that genuine G.I. M1 Carbines are sought after and probably solid values even though getting pricier. There's nothing like them.

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness. (Ronald Reagan, 1964)

I'll be an interested lurker but I'm sure the prices will be too high for me to justify.
