With a fresh Wolff recoil spring it should run 115 gr Winchester white box just fine.

Nice looking old Luger OP. I'm not sure I would even shoot it . . at least not much. It's primary value is as a collectable. That can only decrease with use, wear, and tear.

      Either way, congrats and enjoy!

I've fired 124gr JHP through my luger just fine.
The load is a little softer than WWB 115gr.

My grandfather had/has one of those. I held it in my hands when I was about 10, along with a 10-12 shot .22lr revolver.

His story is he and his war buddy were kicking in doors in France during WWII looking for Germans. Behind one door was a German soldier that killed his friend, then my grandfather killed the German. He took the Luger, and got it back home in his holster (I think he said he ditched his Colt for the Luger).

I hoped to get those two handguns someday.

About 20 years ago my grandmother died and it didn't take long for my grandpa to find another mate (rumored they were having an affair while my grandmother was invalid). My mom shunned him, her step-father, for this and he became alienated from the entire family. I tried to reach out but he seemed to think I was on my mom's side, or even a spy, so he gave me the cold shoulder.

He would be about 100 right now, so is probably dead, although his dad lived until about 100. He was the only grandfather I ever knew.

Check over at the Luger Forum for a more accurate assessment of it's value. If it's truly an all numbers matching gun (magazine matching would be extra nice but is rare), then it's been devalued with the broken firing pin. Be sure to mention this at the Luger Forum as it will have to be taken into consideration.

Oh, and they'll want more pix.

                  Update on the Luger:
The original firing pin connector was found to be broken off.
Local smith ordered a new one and installed, gave the gun a check up for 140.00
The original pin connector was repaired by a process called "MicroSonic Welding" The repair guy says the repaired area is now stronger than the original piece.
The new pin is still in the gun.
AND after a couple months, the owner of the gun brought it back to Fresno for me to try and sell.

                  So, real question.
The gun has been in his family for decades, no paperwork of course, never registered by him.
How does it get sold since it has to go thru the standard 10day period? Doesn't he have to be on record as the owner?
