    1903a3 Stock Problem

When putting the metal on the "C" stock replacement for 1903a3, the butt plate doesn't fit quite right:

    Your thoughts?

Also - I've looked around but can't a butt plate that may fit it

Common problem fixed by a little woodwork.
    Keep it simple!

Dennis, I can't speak specifically of the 1903A3 stock, but my Enfield Mk V restoration stock is left quite full. It will need to be sanded and planed down to fit properly. I guess it better to have more wood than not enough.

Here's an article I ran across that may help a bit. A lot is not applicable to what you're doing but the concept is the same and there are some bits of info that I found useful. http://www.treebonecarving.com/how-t...-gunstock.html

You could take it down with a belt sander.
