Gifts from my WTB thread -

I started a WTB thread for Vietnam items here and on another forum and was gifted some wonderful things - I offered to pay for them but was turned down - They didn't even want me to pay postage -

I wanted to share with the board the generousity of our members -

It mean so much to me - I thank you from bottom of my heart -

I hope one day I can repay them -

I got the package from Dirk and it is a wonderful wooden set -

Now have to learn how to play chess!

Man, that's awesome! I personally haven't seen official military-issued ammunition like that, and the holster and belt are just dripping with history. Ammo packaged like that all the time? Or was that a special consideration due to the humid jungle environment of Vietnam?

I am jealous of the nice holster. More so of the fact that 30 is a perfect fit.

I wish I could have kept some of my Army issued gear I got in the late 90's. I'd have given it to you because it was definitely Vietnam era stuff!

That is some cool stuff, I especially like the sealed ammo. I have 1 still sealed M16 magazine that I suspect was made to be issued to RVN soldiers. The baseplate says "Colt" and has the caliber but is otherwise sanitized with no USA address on it. Unfortunately, I can't get a clear picture of the baseplate because of the bag. I've never ran across another one like it.

The ammo were preserved in the celo but I've cracked them open -

Standard packaging would be 50 rounds then seperated by cardboard dividers -

When we went to war in Vietnam there was zero preparation for the weather -
