    Unknown FN C&R Pistol

My Grandfather recently passed away. He was a 95 year old WW2 Army Air Corp veteran of the India, Burma, China theater. While going through his belongings, my Mom found an old pistol. This pistol is somewhat of a mystery to the family as no one knew of its existence, let alone when or where he might have gotten it. It looks to be an old FN semi-auto pistol of some sort - looks alot like a FN1900 - but I dont think its quite a match. She said it was approx 6.5" long.

I only have the one picture below - anybody know what this is?
I'll try to get her to take a few more pictures of it.
    Thanks.

I don't think its a legit FN made but a Copy.
The weird markings especially the Nationale repetition and the way the letters looks.
There are known Chinese copies but the marking are better on those.
You said he was in india, so thats my guess.

Wow Chinese knockoff - really cool!

I am reading his diary and memoirs and it turns out he only briefly passed through India, and spent most of his time in the CBI theater as an Ordinance Sergeant stationed on the Kunming Airbase which was commanded by General Claire Chennault of The Flying Tigers fame.

Of course it makes more sense for it to be a Chinese clone than a real FN1900 considering his service.

I am going to try and claim it - probably a little too dangerous to shoot. Thanks for the heads up - mystery most likely solved.
