    Type38 Arasaka value pics added

I have had a friends dads Arasaka for a while and he is now looking to get rid of it, I offered a 100 bucks for it and the last ditch/trainer that he also has. The type 38 is in rough shape. The stock is beat to hell, all metal on the outside is ok but dark and the bore is rusted. Someone has ground down the bayonet lug to fit a different one. Its also missing the magazine parts and has no extras(riffle only). The good is that it still has a mum. I'm not looking for a set in stone price but would like to know what the range is for a riffle in this condition goes for. Also from what i remember it came from the cool factory.

The other is either a last ditch or trainer that is in the same shape and if you guys can give me a value on this it would be great but im not as attached to this one like the 38 and was hoping to have it thrown in.

Well to be fair, any assessment on value is going to be 100x easier with actual visual references. To assign a fair value with only words to go off of is tricky, at best.

I'd encourage that pics be posted so that the Arisaka guys can help you out to the best of their ability.

Really hard to gauge but I don't rate trainers highly and a tampered rifle, even with a mum isn't worth much. I'd offer 100 bucks for both and maybe bargain from there. Wouldn't go over 200 though...

Sounds really rough. I suppose you could offer him the going rate of a local Gun Buyback. I doubt I'd offer more than $100 unless there was something truly unique about them. You'd have to post pics in order to for us to tell you if they are an unusual variation.

If bore will clean up on T38 and you want to reload for it , shoot it, then it might be worth more to you/others.

T38's are well made and accurate.

So after inspecting when i took the pics the stock is a little better than i thought. Most of the damage looks to be caused by handling while it was a wall hanger.

Is there a number code in the right side off the buttstock? If so, take it and run.
