Early 1950's Springfield Armory that I won at the 2011 Fleet West matches in Camp Pendleton as a new shooter. I am a shooter and not much for collecting so when I realized the barrel was shot out, I made the decision to do it up my way and will be passed to my Son. My Daughter will get the MK2. The rifle was completely disassemble and rebarreled with a Krieger service rifle barrel. I refinished the wood with tru oil over several coats of Danish oil, then wet sanded with 1500 and polished with McGuires scratch x 2.0 and a orbital buffer. the brass pieces are plated components done by F&H Plating in Burbank. Other than that, she has been upgraded with match sights and a Miso lense. After break in, we shall have to put some groups up to see how she will hold up at this years west coast matches in May. I have done very well with the AR so I would like to man up, so to speak, and send this ol'girl through the paces.

The rear sight is a hooded M1a sight with a 1/2 minute adjustment by rotating the hood 180 degrees. There was some fitting required to allow snug movement in the sight base. I installed a Miso (aka, Bob Jones) that aids in focus of the front sight and is CMP legal. I don't know if it will be as effective as my AR's microsight in putting both on the same focal plane but we shall see.

I have two of those 7.62 x 51 barreled M1's, one full match other just rebarrelled, both shoot well.
