    Howa M1?

Hey guys, do you have any idea what Howa M1 carbines go for these days? The ones produced for the royal Thai police with the stamped receiver. Just kinda toying with the idea of looking for one but I have no idea of what they go for. I mean they are post war but kinda unique to the right person. All the closed auctions I found are old. Any idea what they are worth or how to go about finding one? Thanks

I bought one half a year ago for $670, without the bayonet lug. I don't know if that's a fair price or not, I just wanted it and typed in the max amount I was willing to pay ($700). One popped up right after starting at $675, don't know if that sold or not.

The only other prices I know of from before is from centerfire systems selling them in 2011 at $530 and people saying they bought some in 2012 from 400-500.

There is no source.. Just the collector market. They are a neat variation of the M-1 carbine. As far as I have found 99% of the guns available have had the bayonet lug removed...I've never seen a actual bayonet lug in person....

I bought the one below in 2000 for $325.

Thanks guys. Guess I’ll just check GB weekly. Won’t be the first time I spent 6+ months checking once or twice a week till I find what I’m looking for at a price I’m willing to pay on GB.

Just to keep it interesting here is my IBM and a shot of Bangkok.

              Very interesting variation -

OP - You should set up a notification email on GB -

Do a search for Howa then click on "save this search" - You'll get a daily email of new listing -

              Best of luck -

I almost got one recently. An out of the way FFL had no idea what it was. Was not priced and I wasn't going to spill the beans and make him charge me a sky high price. Even though I bought 5 other guns he wouldn't deal.

He ended up telling me he couldn't ID it, barrel was shot out and gun was junk and he was going to bust it up for parts. I agreed to still buy it for parts but no dice. Oh well.
