The rifle is a real Izhevsk PU that was re-arsenaled. It is a Molot import, shown by the import stampings/engravings and the KO91/30 model designation. It should have the diamond RNC proof etched on the bolt head. Can you take pictures of the underside of the bolt bend? WWII PU bent bolts will show evidence of anvil marks from the bending process.

The stock is correct mid-war, yet re-arsenaled. Can't make out the cartouche well but it is Izhevsk (CCCP) with the partial sling escutcheons.

The scope mount is WWII, with rough machining marks and the two scallop cuts. The mount base is also WWII, with the rounded forward portion where the mounting "ball" is.

I am loving the scope....it is a period correct Krasnogorsk PU scope. New scope number stamped out over the line-out on barrel shank.

The Tula pictures aren't showing for me.

Both are in wartime Izhevsk stocks.

The stock on the Izhevsk PU is either a 42 or a 43, I can't remember which cartouche is which at the moment.

The Tula is also a real PU- CH stamp above star. The rifle is also re-arsenaled, shown by the box stamp below the barrel shank serial. It shows the grinding marks on the bolt where the previous serial number was ground and re-stamped, also the magazine floor plate has additional serial numbers. My knowledge on Tula PU's is limited versus the Izhevsk, but from everything I have read if a scope number is on the barrel shank, it was added by the refurbishment facility. The mount and base are WWII, as is the stock. The scope is a progress PU scope.

Yep, I can see the anvil marks running fore-aft at the bend. Also the RNC proof mark right below it added by the exporter when the rifles were re-proofed. Nice rifles!

I am curious about the Tula, as I only own an Izhevsk PU- Are all the small parts stamped with the Tula star? I doubt the stock and it's related parts are, since it's an Izhevsk stock but how about the bolt? My 1944 Izhevsk doesn't have any Tula small parts, whereas my various Mosin refurbs are a mixed bag. Also, are any of the scope mounts/bases Tula? They didn't make many.

The krasnogorsk scope is a nice touch. It's a fairly uncommon scope, ~12% of the total PU scope production were 1943 krasnogorsk.

Also, this information is quite new (the info that "debunked" the DDR /1\ theory) but if it's true, the Tula and it's scope were re-arsenaled at 7th GRAU in Riga, Latvia. I saved this picture from Gunboards, google "DDR triangle one debunked" for the large thread. What's the import mark on the Tula? Is it an RGUNS? As for the RNC proof mark, it might be Russian Govt or Molot, haven't really searched much but my Molot VEPR12 shotgun and Tulsky import PU have the same proof.

                        Do you shoot them?
Do you shoot them beyond 100 yards
What is the longest distance shot and how do they shoot?
                        What kind of ammo used?
                        Range review?

I like the Tula because the scope number is the original stamp on the barrel shank and matches the scope number. It's rare to see that without a lineout or scrub / restamp and these are generally worth more than the average lineout or scrub.

The number stamped on the mount on the Izzy is strange, most have the electro-pencil only. The numbers and stamps look original so it's not a big deal.

The Scope on the Tula, a Progress, is also probably worth more than an average Progress. It numbers in the 1943 block and has the experimental Krasnogorsk turret caps, which is rare and very valuable. Compare the caps to your Izzy Krasnogorsk and you can see the similarity, usually Progress scopes always had a center pin that was exposed.
