Finally converted my left-side charging 6.8 into a 5.56 (top) that I can effectively use for unsupported shooting activities. Took my eotech off my partner's AR (bottom) and put a Sparc II on for her.
Also took the wall mount (3D printed) spot.
I opted for a muzzle break this go-round.

I found myself up late last night and decided to check out this thread, I must have seen about 50 pages and then skipped to last. I was sad to see how gun control in California has changed this thread.
You can see how guns have been castrated and no longer look like what they are supposed to look like. The guns being posted truly make me sad. I decided to post a glimmer of hope in 2018. I hope you all enjoy and hope that it encourages a build of your own.
Before I share some pictures of my rifle and how it is set up let me briefly share with you how this build started and how it ended up being set up and is 100% California compliant.
Earlier this year, I found myself contemplating laws that would come into effect summer of 2018 regarding 80% lowers. The state was going to force us, who legally manufactured our lowers would be forced to serialize and register with California DoJ under threat of fines, prison and violence and losing our rights. Doing so would defeat the purpose of having a self manufactured weapon.
I finished my 80% lowers back in December of 2014, I bought all components and finished my AR-Pistol got about 2000 rounds through it before 2018 came and I would have to register or get rid of it. I decided to go with the later.
After that I decided that instead of registering my "ghost guns" I would buy a pair of stripped lowers. I ordered 2 stripped Anderson Manufacturing stripped Ghost lowers(no logos, just serial and model stamped multi caliber). I then searched how to legally build a pistol with a stripped lower and saw that it was not possible in Commifornia.
After I DROS'd my lowers in California, I built my pistol in Arizona. I finished the stripped lower and assembled as a pistol. The reason I did this is because as you know a stripped lower has not been determined what kind of gun it will end up as, I also do not know if I will live in California for the rest of my life and you may also know that, if you finish a lower as a rifle, it can never be a pistol or other AR-15 variant other than a rifle. However a pistol once finished as a pistol, you can add a rifle stock and rifle upper. I hope you are all following me here lol.
I then saved up my pennies and bought my components to bring my California DROS'd stripped lower and have a compliant rifle here in California.
I assembled my California legal AR-15 and brought it legally back to California. . Here is what it looks like and what all went into it.
The build is a fixed magazine, so I can have all the features that according to the anti gunners make the gun more dangerous. Without further ado, here she is.
Magazine is fixed with Hogue Freedom Fighter kit(slight fitting on magazine release button needed to work with all magazines and be bomb proof), this is a internal fixed magazine option. rear takedown pin is Juggernaut Tactical Hellfighter Mod Kit(pin only) the The setup allowed me to keep a standard magazine release and bolt catch(added Magpul B.A.D lever), last round hold open. The fixed magazine can be undone in less than 1 minute by removing Hogue Freedom Fighter plunger via 1 hex screw. I shoot in Arizona a lot, and used to undo, now I just practice with this setup super super fast.
Upper is a complete PSA 16" 1/7" twist 13.5" M-LOK light weight hand guard with their full-auto rated 158 carpenter steel bolt carrier group and charging handle, it also came with Gen 2 Magpul MBUS sights.
Lower is Anderson Manufacturing Ghost Lower (No logo, just serial number, model, and stamped multi-cal) lower parts kit is PSA Enhanced MOE less the trigger and fire control group it did come with buffer extention tube and Magpul MOE grip. Fire control group is ALG Defense ACT Trigger
Stock is FAB-Defense GL-Mag, comes with a 10 round Ultimag.
Magazines are FAB-Defense Ultimags coupled with FAB-Defense OMC(Opposite Magazine Coupler)
White light is Inforce WMLx and is attacked via Magpul 5 slot polymer M-LOK section.Leave a comment:
