Me out shooting my Hammerhead-equipped carbine this past weekend. To be honest, I hated the grip the first time I put it on, and replaced it in favor of a grip wrap. Over time though, I got really annoyed with not being able to use my thumb, and so swapped it back on. Took some time to get used to, but I love being able to wrap my thumb around; I feel like I have so much more control over the rifle than before. Thumbs up for the Hammerhead, thanks Exile!

Here is a pic of my wife's DDM4V7LW with the FRS-15. I still need to add the muzzle brake.

The black stock is epoxy and screw attached. Now.

Are you sure that isn't now a thumbhole stock by definition?

I'd like to try something like that, but the FRS-15 isn't cheap and I'd rather not hack it up.

The biggest problem I see is that it might qualify as a thumbhole stock. Not worth risking a felony.

    Mag Tactical lower
Ballistic Advantage 5.45x39 14.5" midlength Hansen profile barrel
    YHM 5M1 pinned/welded
    Midwest Industries SS12G2
Geissele SSA-E (although it'll probably get something more appropriate for a fairly light field carbine, maybe a G2S maybe an ACT
NiB BCG, I forget whether this one is AIM or PSA, with Ballistic Advantage 5.45x39 NiB bolt
    Thordsen Customs FRS-15
    MBUS

I'm considering picking up a Primary Arms 1-6x scope for it. It'll never be a long range precision rifle, especially shooting 7N6, but it weighs 6lb6oz (was 6lb flat with Magpul grip/stock) so it's nice to carry around. Need to figure out what sling I should go with, too.

I think it's interesting that people were saying it's too short, to me it's too long if anything (and I'm 6'2"). I'd probably prefer an inch or two shorter.

We've done some design concepts for the AK but the position of the trigger being so far under the action makes good ergonomics of a fixed stock impossible. The Saiga is a better candidate but there are already very good options for it so we're not gonna reinvent the wheel there.

Shame, although I am looking forward to the alternative to the CAA.
