Went to Angeles Shooting Range this morning to sight in my Vortex Strikefire red dot on my new DPMS Oracle at 100 yards. Second time shooting my AR (haven't really shot rifles in over 10 years and only few times in total). Last week I shot it for the first time at 25 yds. Background on my DPMS Oracle here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ht=dpms+oracle

250 rounds today, still no hiccups since new.
Not sure where I should be at in accuracy at 100yds but I was happy with the results with the Vortex. Still working on my breathing and muscle memory for shots. Overall, very satisfied with this budget buy.

              Zero @ 100 yards. That's Sub-MOA with 55gr FMJBT American Eagle
              (2.5" Target / 1" Bullseye)

              25 consecutive rapid-fire shots @ 300 yards. 1 Minute of wind right-to-left.
My steel target is an MGM TAC BCCZ standard IPSC Target (A,B,C zones only).

Two pics here from today's shoot. The first is with Federal Gold Match 308 Rounds, the other is with Winchester 308 rounds (cheap) at 100 yards. Ammo makes a huge difference!!

The second with less quality ammo @ 100 yards

This was the last time out at Pala with the LaRue DMR using 68gr. Hornady match:

Excuses: I feel like I could have done better with a higher magnification(3-9x) and I took some shortcuts when making ammo which makes me believe it can tighten up a little.

                          Here are my "Savages"
.22lr Savage 93 BTVLSS; two groups different days using Lapua Center-X. The first is 50 yards:

Here is my last group at 100 yards:

Next is my Savage 10 at 100 yards using FGMM 168s:

Finally, with 168 gr Hornady A-max:

Rifles are broken in, but I have less than 500 rounds through the .22lr and less than 250 rounds through the .308. Happy shooting!

If that was shot with a .224 caliber projectile it is a 2" bullseye. Each square is 1/2" so that group is closer to 1.5 MOA

This target was also shot with .224 bullets and the upper left and lower right 5 shot groups are submoa.

I took my M1A Supermatch and bedded it into my new Pro-Mag Archangel stock. I installed a titanium nitrided gas piston, an adjustable gas valve for minimum op-rod slam, an op-rod buffer to lessen the slam against the receiver. I did some trigger polish work that reduced the National Match trigger job from 5 to 4lbs. I did a hammer lightening job that reduced the hammer mass by about 35-40% for quicker lock-up. I just installed my new IJK 10-40x50 non-illuminated scope (pretty good for the money) onto my Basset Machine scope mount using high quality scope rings. Cheap scope rings are the scourge of scopes in my opinion. Most negative scope effects are directly linked to cheap rings. Ammo was Russian Wolf 150 gr. (I still have a bunch of it around). My first day at the range with my current set up and shot this 10 round group at 100 yards. I'm pretty happy with the results.
