Carbine .308 upper with Rifle buffer and tube question

Is it possible a rifle buffer and tube mated with a carbine upper would cause a cycling issue?

The upper assembly is a DPMS factory setup so I do not suspect a gas leak. Could the rifle buffer be causing the non cycle issue?

    Thanks!

    Possibly.

I know when it comes to .308 the carbine buffers are shorter than an AR-15 buffer.

This is because the carrier needs to travel further back in order to extract and eject the longer cases.

Maybe the rifle buffers are also supposed to be shorter?

both buffers should be about .70-.75" shorter than an ar15 buffer.
alot of people are being sold ar15 buffers at the price of an ar10 buffer....

Since its been some time, I just checked my Midway order to see if I blew it. I did indeed order a .308 rifle buffer and spring.

What kind of cycling issues are you having?
