After finding out that the Bay Area Gun Vault opened up its doors near me in Mountain View, I knew it was only a matter of time before I bought something from them.
As luck would have it, a friend was interested in buying a pistol with his wife and I helped them test several before they settled on a Sig P226 in .40. They started the paperwork at BAGV and that's when my eyes started to wander.
I'm normally a cautious person, taking my time to do research before making a purchase, but that was not to be the case on this day. Looking at the array of firearms available, and already having an AR build from earlier this year, my eyes settled on a few of the AK models. Of particular eyecatching interest was a WASR10 with beige Tapco furniture & a fake suppressor on it (hey CA, F yew n yer "evil features", & yes that mag is pinned). After spending only a few minutes comparing it to a couple of others, I called dibs and started paperwork of my own. A fine grab for only $550 IMO.
10 government-mandated days later and it came home to join the AR for a full disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and lube. I can't believe I haven't hit the range yet!! Soon enough....

BTW, I happen to own two preban hi-caps and am considering a MMG for the few times I'd like to drop the pistol grips. Plug n play!
