What are you installing the rail on? Is there a reason you don't want to buy the tool and do the job yourself? Have you considered sending your parts to a well known gunsmith?

2- The wrench can be found for much less used and it is nice to have the tools to service your own rifle.

3- I was referring to a gunsmith that is well known for doing the type of work you want and does most of it's business from rifles being shipped to them.

AR15Barrels does the installs all the time, he does mail in work and is pretty fast on the turn around time. PM him. He is in Socal

I wouldn't read in too much to those old reviews. Randall does great work , he has installed several URX rails for me and did the one on my MK11 gun when I put a new barrel in.

It's worth it to have the wrench IMO. You could get this for $65 and then you could work on your upper if you ever needed to.

I have talked with Randall at AR15barrels but I've read to much negative feedback from his customers on other forums to go that route.

Anyone know of a local shop or have a wrench I could borrow/rent?
I thought maybe if I quote the OP then people will actually read it before posting.

To the OP, as a last resort (if you haven't already) I'd give US Firearms in Sunnyvale a call. I've had him do a tiny bit of work for me and although the overall experience was dragged out and WAY too expensive, going to him is better than having a rail sitting on the shelf at your house. If you do give him a call, all I can say is make sure that EVERYTHING is very very clear before you move forward.
Oh, and I also wouldn't leave it with him. I'd be adamant that the work needs to be done while you wait.

Im sure it would be faster and probably cheaper to just do it yourself. plus you'll have the means to work on that rifle. How much does it cost for a "gunsmith" to turn a wrench for you? not worth it at all. sorry if its not what you wanted to hear but that type of stuff everyone should do on their own.
Slapping an upper onto a lower is not "building" an AR-15.

what i don't get is, why doesn't the wrench come with said handrail? I thought that was industry standard for proprietary barrel nuts.

Not always, but it's becoming more common that the wrench is included.

                            I asked the same thing.
