Today was such a nice day, I bought new toys! :D

I was faced with a dilemma this morning. Following my 7:30 thermodynamics class, I was faced with an unexpected 3 hour break when my other classed were cancelled during today's lovely morning. I decided I'd celebrate!. First, I took a nap in the CSUS library. Then I started my DROS for 2 AERO .308 AR-10 lowers, a spikes rifle lower, spikes .22lr lower, and a spikes pistol lower

Its been a really nice day.

There's nothing like thermodynamics to get you in the mood to shoot something. Well, maybe quantum mechanics.

Engineering. Its actually a fun class, its just torture to go to class that early. lol.

Good job, class then dros. Job well done. Let us know how it all goes. You have quite a few projects ahead of you.

Never take a physics-based thermo class. Sucks the big fat one. Page after page of derivations and statistical stuff on homeworks. Plus, the teacher I had was a total d***. Stat mech blows.

I hear you on it was a nice day. I received my BCM mid length upper today, my mags from 44 mags, and I have my Cav arms handguards ready to be installed on my first OLL. I will be posting pictures as soon as me and my friend build tomorrow night. Peace

I took the physics based thermo as well as the calculus based physics, I did not have a choice, it was mandatory for engineers. All engineering classes are calculus/physics based.

                      Congrats on the purchases!

With that many lowers every day will be a great day. Congrats on your Dros good haul.

lol, I don't think its even possible to take one without it being physics-based. Unless ur referring to Chem 1A intro thermo.......but thats just a bunch of useless thermo. R134a is my friend right now though. lol, gotta love those refrigeration cycles.

Yeah, I'm kinda paranoid about the elections. I'm sure stuff won't get banned, at least not outright. I just figured I'd play it safe and avoid any buying rushes and future hazards.

Honestly, DROSing an AR lower for a pistol is cake.....finding an FFL to do it is not. Luckily, my FFL is a great guy and is willing to try a new thing or two. All your FFL needs to do is start a pistol DROS for you as a single-shot pistol. Thats all, nothing to it. If your FFL required it to be built first then just take an upper off of another AR and slap a pistol tube on there with a wooden block mag-locked into the lower. Other than that, the transfer goes down like a normal pistol would. Just wait ur ten days and pick up. Then, if you like, you can pin a 10 rounder in there and its still legal!

And a bullet button will work right? and no need to have a 16 in. plus barrel? What size barrel do you plan on putting on it? I think I might have to build one now.

Honestly, having a pistol is pushing the envelope enough. A bullet button sounds fine but I'm going to use a P50. You can use any barrel length you want on a pistol. I'm going to use a 10.5" piston driven upper to add reliability and keep operating pressures down. I had addax tactical in mind.

Carbine length gas systems put the bolt under much more stress than mid or rifle length systems. Since a piston vents the gas, I'm figuring the operating forces will be greatly reduced--not to mention cleaner.
