M+M Incorporated's M10X

The more I research about it, the more I am intrigued and enamored by M+M Inc's new M10X that Quiet first posted in the "2015: Year of the AK" thread. Now I think a new thread just dedicated to the rifle is needed to separate it from the voluminous information in that thread.

What made me very interested is the free floated barrel, previously unheard of in the AK platform.



Looks very interesting with a very similar concept as the Sig556xi. The traditional AK recoil spring has been replaced with a return spring placed on the gas piston.



It uses a trigger very similar to the AK. Wonder if ALG/Geissele AK trigger would work? Note the ambidextrous safety:


They will make CA models. Praise the Lord!


Now I will have to rethink my decision to get CMMG's Mutant Mk47 . . .

I would get this over the Mutant, not really turned on by a DI AK

Ok on a 2nd look, I am in. I am very curious to see how such an ambitious project turns out, they fixed alot of the issues I had with traditional AKM pattern rifles. I really like the Ambi Charging handle, the Ambi and lever style safety and the new magazine release system that reduces mag wobble.

I have a m10 762 and love it. Glad they are attempting to try something new - time will tell if it works out.

i will stick with my SAM7SF.
I like the AK platform for what it is.
I like the AR platform for what it is.
I don't want to turn one into the other in any case.
However i do view it as a positive that the AK platform is getting so much attention as of late.

Actually, if you look at the very first picture posted in this thread, you will see what looks to be a CA model with mag release shroud and 10 round mag. Per first post, you'd see a CA model will be available. How? Solar style mag release shroud and 10 round mag. What else.
