    AA9117 or MA9117

Speaking in terms of desirability, reliability ect...
Which M1A is preferred, the AA9117 or MA9117
Is the barrel length the only difference?

I know there some M1A guys that know how to proceed. I need your help with a urgent and impending deal. The serial date range is in the 086xxx I'm not sure if the 80k range has the usgi parts that are desirable either. I have been wrong before.

You need to go to m14 forums stat and they'd know
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

From what I saw, the barrel lengths are different, but that is not the interesting part.

The AA was only produced up until 1996. The MA was up until 2010.

Were they still using USGI parts in 1996? I'm not sure, but there will be people over at the M14 forums who will know.

This slow going. Anyone please feel free to check it out and get back to me here.
I, after countless hours of searching for what seemed impossible to find at a reasonable cost...AA9117 in mint condition. I'll tell the story later if all goes well. I'm shocked in the way that she has found me because that's the way it happened. After numerous wtb ads and emails to people I...

Nah, a scar is way too expensive in comparison. I'm sure you have a closet full of M1As and from this picture, you never looked happier

                        Nope, no M14 patterns here.

Wouldn't mind one, just not very high on my list

I'm interested in what's the thought behind that because I know I have done a lot of research focused on a semi auto battle rifle and the M14 is not a bad platform. With everything happening the AK is also on the list now but I can't see a AR10 in the fold because of how expensive they are when they are built up the right way.

I dont know how to answer that without starting a pissing a match and going pretty off topic from your original post

so super short version of my opinion:

It is old and heavy. Still cool and effective, but old and heavy.

OP, you are 9 out of 14 posts in this thread. You are too impatient for this forum, it's not a geared towards the short lived war horse. Some members are qualified to answer your question, they just aren't here every two hours to suit your needs.
