Polymer80 jig set to practice.
Modulus Arms jig set for the forged & billet lowers.
I'm not experienced in handling a router, dremmel or a drill press, so I tried a POLYMER80 Phoenix set of jig & lower receiver to practice on. Bought the set from Ares as well. It came complete with the drill bits, end mill etc.
Worked on it over the Holidays and the end product proved viable on my AR midlength from PSA. The owner of Polymer80: Loran and its support tech: David helped along the way through email on pointers.
Now I have a Modulus Arms jig set to use on several of the remaining 80% lowers I have. Once you build 1 80% lower receiver, you wanna do more:-)
This in a way is exercising our 2nd Amendment. The other is by donating to the NRA.Comment

I have a tactical machining jig that I machined two Ares armor billet lowers in. I had to slightly modify the jig to fit the lowers. I had to round off the inside top corners, above the rear take down pin holes. Also I had to remove like .2" from the inside of one side plate where it rests against the magazine release guard.
It was an easy and quick modification and the jig still works great with forged lowers.
I also replaced the drill bushings with better ones as the originals were a kind of soft steel.

Plus one on 80% arms easy jig. I used it on an ares forged, and an 80% arms billet and they both turned out great.Comment
