    Stainless Steel barrel and cerakoting

I'm pretty sure this can be done, but thought I'd see if anyone else has already done this. I'd like to get a 20" varmint barrel for my AR15, but seems that most of the ones I have found are all finished in stainless steel. Not that it's the worst thing ever, but would it be possible to cerakote the barrel without it doing any harm to it? I'm sure it will be fine, but just thought I'd check with you guys.

    Thanks!

Yeah, it will work just fine. The barrel will need to be bead blasted to give the cerakote some texture to adhere to. Be sure to mask off the muzzle threads and barrel extension/chamber area. Some people will mask off the gas block seat as well, but I typically cerakote it as well and just plug the gas port to keep the spray from getting into the bore.

I have ion bond on a stainless AR barrel, and a 1911 barrel, they look good. Just thought I'd add that option.
