Looking to buy a used barrel. What to look for in pictures?

Looking to buy a used match barrel with 300-400 rounds through it. I asked for pictures of the bore and throat. But don't know what to look for. Any help appreciated.

What kind of bbl? Ask him to clean the bbl but not oil it. Lands should be sharp w/o damage or nicks. Would be better if he could insert a bore light and take extra picts. The crown at the muzzle end should not have dings. Look for any bulges or scrubbed out areas.

The general rule on used barrels is that the advertised use is always 200 rounds, regardless of wether they actually have 200 rounds of 20,000 rounds fired through them.
I think the "200 rounds" was just what they mean was fired since the last cleaning...

Using this logic, a barrel with 300-400 rounds through it would be completely worn out.

Buying a used barrel is a crap shoot. It might turn out ok for a blaster gun, but for anything you want to do quality shooting with I wouldn't bother

              Just like that.
How drunk were the ones that said 3 or 4 beers?

I've bought quite a few used barrels, but always from people I trust who keep log books. They are all excellent shooters for very little money.

I'd never buy a used barrel from a rando.

Beyond the usual, being able to get a measurement of the throat erosion would be helpful. Even if it's cleaned up all nice and pretty it doesn't mean much if it's shot to hell.

Look for a star pattern at the end of the muzzle crown. You want to look for an even pattern.

To do this, you would need to know the measurement of the throat when new. I changed out my last service rifle barrel at around 5700 rounds of molyed rounds. It was still shooting well at the shorter ranges (100-300 yards), but the throat had worn a little over 50 thousandths (0.050").
