    Essential Arms

    I searched, but found nothing.

Has anyone heard anything about AR stripped lowers by Essential Arms?

Yes. They are OLL receivers. I haven't heard anything bad about them. I've handled a few. Never built one. A lower is a lower. If the holes are in the right place it will work.

      Your Google-fu approaches the sux

Their website is, oddly enough, http://www.essentialarms.com

They make nice lower receivers, and they've been making them for a long time. Good stuff.

I've built many rifles on EA lowers. I did a massive group buy about a year ago with some friends. I was able to get them for $114 each after shipping and DROS. These lowers always seem to fit sug with no wobble. At the same time, they are no overly tight enough to require anything more than a gentle push to pop the pins. Great lowers! Be sure to get the black tough coat finish though. The standard black anodized color is actually colt grey.

If Hell ever needed a operations manual all it would need is a copy of California's laws

                love mine pictured below

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

From a post I made over at HK94:

Sounds like an Essential Arms J-15 lower. I'm having trouble finding information on this company, as they merely appear to be one of many AR-15 lower manufacturers that have appeared over the years. Considering it was put together so long ago, it was probably an investment cast lower, as opposed to forged.

Many J-15 receivers have a light grey color as opposed to the more traditional milspec black finish. This is Essential Arms' proprietary finish, and was offered as an extra option.

There is a company that exists today named Essential Arms, however the Essential Arms that manufactured your receiver went out of business sometime in 1993, due to DPMS buying them out for their tooling equipment. This new Essential Arms is likely a resurrection of the older company, as they offer many of the same options and finishes.
