    Canted AR Front sight

Is there a quick fix for a canted AR front sight? I've maxed out the rear windage, but I still can't zero the sights. I tried both a LMT fixed rear sight and a Colt carry handle and it's the same in both cases, it's still shooting way right. Read over on AR15.com that you can remove the upper receiver and whack the front sight with a leather mallet. I'm sorta leery of fixing things with whacks by a hammer. Any suggestions? Upper is a CMMG that was bought complete. Thanks!

I had the same problem with a Bushmaster upper. I sent it back under warranty and they removed and retimed the barrel.
