Hi All,
I'm looking at buying a used Stevens .308 from a private seller. Although he states that he bought it new 14 months ago, he is unsure of the model number. Researching shows me that it is most likely the Model 200 - Short Action, but now I'm not so sure as the seller says it's a 5 round mag although savage/stevens website shows that it's a 4 rounder.
So first question, how can he tell what model number it is by looking on the rifle? Where does it state the model number? Apparently, he no longer has the paperwork and he asked me this question.
Second, he said the only issue with it is that the casing doesn't eject when he pulls back on the bolt. He just manually pulls it out. Is he doing something wrong or is it broken? And if so, what's the cost for fixing this?
Lastly, it comes with a Leupold scope...what's a good price to offer?
Thanks!
