Hey, I unfortunately live between two gun shops that are perhaps overly cautious (which I can respect) when it comes to Saigas. One won't order any and the other will only carry a .223 because the owner says the 7.62 isn't CA legal. Is that true? I've heard a lot of them mentioned on the forums, so I know people have them...Is this something new, or is the owner being stubbornly mistaken? Thanks!

Saiga 7.62 cali legal?
Tags: None -
The RAAC Saigas are not listed, in any caliber.
The only listed Saiga is the Kalashnikov USA Saiga (regardless of caliber).
Tons of 'em are now being sold in CA, at gunshows and by gunshops who get audited by DOJ BoFfers.
Previous confusion by one DOJ agent/rep vs. one SoCal FFL caused some slight drama originally - but when it was politely pointed out to that agent that his actions would cause his managment chain to have to deal with the Office of Administrative Law for attempting to enforce an underground regulation, all problems went away.

haha... no, when he originally put the post up, there must've been a lag in the calguns server, so there were 3 threads with the same thing posted at the same time.
you know, double tap= 2 posts/threads put up unintentionally (not uncommon), but his was 3 posts/threads put up unintentionally, therefore the 3 round burst comment.CRPA Lifetime MemberComment

To the OP: Aren't you in Santa Barbara?
The 2 remaining gun stores in Santa Barbara (Far West Guns and the one in Goleta) are run by old school and rude ignorant idiots who spread FUD because people don't buy old hunter type guns from their limited inventory at their inflated prices. They killed the only competition in town who was OLL friendly (Dodge City -- admittedly his book keeping was sloppy but word has it that Far West sicked the ATF on him over a petty family feud). Don't go there. Their prices on regular guns are around 20% above market value as well. They want $200 for common Mosin Nagants. Go to Uncle Paul's in Ventura or the store in Camarillo (I forget their name -- Camarillo Shooter Supply I think). They will set you up with what you need. There are also a few OLL friendly places around Santa Maria/SLO.Last edited by nobs11; 10-16-2008, 1:54 PM.Comment
