    Coming Along Nicely *Pictures*

    Hello everyone,

As some of you know I have been building my first AR-15. With the immense help from the great guys here at calguns and the friendly people over at J&J Armory I am about half way there. According to UPS my BCM Mid Length Upper with M4 Feed Ramps should be here Thursday and that leaves me with only the Bolt Carrier Group, Charging Handle, Handguard and Butt Stock.

Here are some pictures of my Lower:

I know I am going to pick up the BCM BCG, A LMT Charging Handle and the $20 handguards for now. But I am still not sure what stock I am going to get. I think it is between a A2 stock and the CTR. Also, what parts am I going to have to get to finished the butt stock? IE: Buffer, Spring... If you guys here have any recommendations for both a Butt Stock and all the components I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again for all the help

what kind of mag lock do you have on that thing? because it looks like you have a regular mag release with a pistol grip, and that is a big no no. im not trying to an *****, i just dont want to ssee you get into trouble.

I have a B15 on the way, ordered it last night. I was told that as long as there is no Upper on the rifle the Bullet Button does not need to be on.

And please don't think you are being a ******* its better to warn people than to let them break the law and get into some serious hot water.

If I am still in violation of California law please let me know, I'll disassemble the lower until the BB arrives.

It's not a semi-auto centerfire firearm in that config. according to CA law. No problem.

Before you slap an upper on her, make sure you have a bullet button installed.

I thought thta even "upperless," the lower should NOT have a PG and a regular button -- isn't that why the stores won't sell them that way? It is the receiver that is the "gun" by law.

What if he put a bolt action upper, such as a .50DTC on it? Or perhaps a rifle without a gas system? Or even a rimfire conversion upper?

He hasn't broken the law yet. In fact, it could be arguable that without the buttstock even a normal AR upper would not be semi-auto as there would be no way to return the carrier to home without doing it yourself (after returning fromthe hospital to have the carrier removed from your face). It would in essence be a self-ejection bolt action rifle. It's not something I would want to do, but it is legal within the legal realm of the law (at least in the way I understand it - then again I am not a lawyer so seek legal advice before doing anything I say and/or do).

                        Not to be an ***....

Im glad that all is going well, and that you have gotten involved with the greatness that is the calguns online forum. But... for future refrence you should learn the Macro focus option on your camera. Blurry pictures are okay. Sharp clear pictures of your black rifle are better.

I was using a older camera since I am not looking to drop $100-$200 on a new digital camera. So I can never get them to come out clear and in high resolution.

I figured that money I would be spending on a camera would be put to better use by buying ammo.

So the wonderful brown truck just stopped by and delivered the Upper.

I was very happy with the quality of the Upper (not that I know enough to tell if it wasn't good quality) and am loving the hat that came with it. I will be the sharpest looking guy at the range next time.

I was wondering where I can get the pin to hold it in place. Not the pivot pin but the one that suppose to go through the back of the Upper. Is that just part of the butt stock assembly somehow?

I should be picking up a butt stock in a week or two. If I go the A2 route I will get it next week. If I go the CTR route probably in a couple weeks.

Is there anything I should do to the Upper before I install it?

Never mind on the Take Down pin. I re-looked the assembly guide over on AR15.com and read the stock assembly part. I skipped over that when I was installing my LPK since I don't have the butt stock.
