    AR-10 bolt action upper?

Anyone know if a 308 AR bolt action upper exists?

I see Ferret and Bohica have them down to 338 lapua mag, but wouldn't it be awesome to have a 308 bolt action upper that you could use standard AR10 parts for?

Yes, I think Tubb has them on his web site. I would look around.

Thanks rg for the info! Its the Tubb 2000.

I'm looking into it now, but its a whole upper/lower thing so far as I can tell.

man that thing's one step up from a Bubba-ized Enfield.

Just because a thing is possible doesn't not mean it should be done. Or purchased.

You can get a real nice bolt-action rifle, instead of yet another upper.

        /same goes for .22lr rifles

Thanks rayra for the input. I called Creedmore sports which sells the Tubb 2000 and they are $4600 with a 4 month wait. I have a Steyr SSG that I'm running with a Leupy Mk4 4.5-14x. I'm looking for a heavier barrel/new precision rifle setup and I've looked at the new FN patrol rifles, the Steyr prohunter/SBS, the Tikka T3 and a Remington 700 PSS.

I'm leaning tword the PSS due to the available custom items.

I asked the question because it would be easy to simply put on a AR10 bolt upper on a lower and your good to go, and there are so many custom things available for the AR platfrom.

David Tubb bubba-ized, but he sure can shoot

That is not just an upper. It is an entire rifle. And much more than just a "bubba-ized enfield". The ergos are similar to an AR. Tubbs makes a very accurate rifle. Might not look like much to you but that doesn't mean it is worthless.

Get a Remington PSS and a JAE M700 stock and you will have a stable platform with adjustable cheek rest and rail options that can take AI magazines.

Most of these are bolt action uppers, too bad they are overseas which I doubt we could get over here. Not AR-10 though. smaller lowers it looks like.
