Help finding a shoulder strap for my SIG 556 Please!

Okay...I was told there is some attachment needed for a shoulder strap to be added on a SIG 556. Is this true? If so, anyone know where I can get both? This thing is kinda heavy for a girl to carry around without a strap!

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanx!

Welcome to Calguns. We have a rifleman's forum, and a ladies' forum, as well!

There's a clip attachment on the front, under the gas block, and attachment on the stock.

Here's a pic of how you can do it without special attachments (this pic has the sling going through the front hole on the stock, there's also one near the rear - I'd also have gone around the stock, rather than under.):

That's not a pic of my rifle or sling... I don't (often) post pics of my own rifles. The 556 is one I don't own - if I did it would have a Magpul stock and 550/1 forend

Still.... you do have all the toys. Most of my toys start with the word "power" end in "tool" and dont fit in my safe.

              Hey there Rachelle,
Gregg from the Firing Line here. The new rifle looks Bad *****. As far as a sling goes (we call them slings) go simple and look for something in the Blue Force line. Not to pricey and built well. As far as the mounting of said sling goes you may need a swivel of some sort or adapter to fit the specific rifle you have. Glad to see you found Calguns and came down with a case of Black Rifle Disease. Hope to see you soon with your Sig.
Here is the link for Blue Force (Check out the Vickers sling...I love mine.)

I find that nylon slings for just carrying the rifle tend to be slippery and slip off the shoulder. Leather or other like materials tend to stay in place. For a three-point carry on the rifle where the sling is strapped to the body, nylon is fine.

if you're on a budget, these are nice and very reasonable.
