AR Build Question: Pre-Ban vs Post Ban?

Ok, I've got my OLL in the "10 day waiting period" and I'm looking for a complete upper to complete the build. Can someone explain the difference and if it matters when building up an OLL with a Bullet Button?

FWIW, I've been leaning toward the CMMG Middy from here, but if you look at this Stag 2H listing, it has the pre-ban comment.

    What's the deal?

PRE-BAN and POST BAN has everything to do with the expired Federal Assault Weapons ban (and it wasn't really even a ban), and nothing to do with the Bullet Button.

Bullet Button = fixed 10 round magazine build, and allowing evil CA features.

I'm guessing of the so called bayonet lug attachment.

I answered this extensively not even a week ago. It's been answered 100's of times before. Search is your friend.

Bottom line - CA laws are more stringent than anything else you need to worry about. Follow CA law and ignore any of those statements.

I think he is talking about the stag2h "Pre Ban" model. The bayonet Attachment was part of the ban. Couldn't have that no more. So Stag calls an upper with the bayonet lug, or grenade launcher cut outs 'pre-ban'. Now it is just, really an option.
