AR Muzzle Device for HD that is NOT a FH?

I am building an AR for HD and I want to make it featureless so I can use my old pre ban hi cap mags in it, however I do not want a brake, because God forbid I have to shoot inside my house with a brake on it, I'll blow my ears out.

Is there some type of muzzle devise that projects the percussion forward instead of sideways, but that is not classified as a flash hider? I do not care if it does indeed blow like a flame thrower, its the direction of the report that concerns me. The Noveske Flaming Pig KX5 would have been perfect, except for some reason beyond me it is apparently classified as a flash hider.

    Thanks

It's often-debated, but the BattleComp (BCE) might be something to consider... it's a lot less FH and more "tactical comp" than many other designs out there.

After receiving a BCM Gunfighter "Comp" Mod 0, it has features that will probably make it more FH than the lawyers would probably like.

You can also just consider a threaded muzzle protector like these: http://www.thordsencustoms.com/shop/...D-x1990473.htm

I'm still torn over which to run on a featureless build (have a BCE 1.0, could order the thread-protector).

If you haven't then check out the link in my sig to my featureless guide. You are going to want some kind of linear compensator in this case.

Don't run a Battlecomp till you have read the guide, its really not worth the risk.
"it's a lot less FH and more "tactical comp" than many other designs out there." Doesn't cut it when it comes to the CADOJ.

BTW, you might want to add the BCM Gunfighter Comp as a "no-go" on your list too... seems to be missing.

              Flaming Pig from Noveske?

Edit: just read that list of muzzle devices, how the hell is the Flaming Pig a "flash suppressor"?

BOOM! That is it my friend. The Dragons Head is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

                Thank you sir!

The battlecomp is a decent comp, but also projects sideways, as does the BCM comp.

Isn't that ridiculous that ATF classifies the flaming pig as a FH?! It's more like the anti-FH.

I think they got that classification because some were concerned it could be considered an actual suppressor. But it gives the same flash as a bare muzzle. It just directs the blast forward.

Will be interested to hear what you think of the Dragon's Head... the price is certainly appealing. Can't find very many reviews on this particular one though.

I honestly don't want to run a bare muzzle on a featureless either.

I looked at the Levang Comp but the fit/finish sounds like crap... people report RUST for crying out loud... sheesh. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

ETA: This seems like a decent round-up though... the Hera device is included in this one: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...vice-shootout/

I had a BCM comp on mine until I learned that it's not kosher in this commie state. Now I have a surefire brake on the featureless.

Seems like there has been another 100 devices come onto the market this year and I have not had time to update the page. I will try to add more soon.

OP might want to look this one over too... haven't run into any solid info on it just yet, but it's in the same price regime.
