    GSG-5- hand guard question

I was looking at the GSG-5 and am considering getting one. I've read in several places that some thought the hand guard 'cheap' and 'toy like'.
Would someone who has handled one shed some light on this ? Is the plastic flimsy in some way ? Is the weight of the gun toy like ? To me the HK handguard and the GSG-5 handguard look identical.
It looks like a cool idea and the price [ 500.00] can't be beat. Now to figure out where to find one in the LA/ San Fernando Valley area.

The stock handguard is fine - I was handling my GSG and HK94/ They both feel similar, have not weigh them - Guess I will.

Quite a few folks down there have them. Have you tried Ade's?

Its got a nice weight to it. I think so. So do the people I let shoot it.

The stock handguards feel like the real thing. I have an MP5 clone and I was also comparing the two. Not much of difference. The A2 stock that it comes with does feel cheap. It quite hollow and chunky...uhh...kinda hard to explain. So, I bought the retractable stock for it and now it feels great! Didn't really need to do much to it after that other than adding on a picatinny rail for red dot scopes.

I must admit, it's a very reliable shooter. The times that I've taken it out to the range, not one failure. Gotta love that lil' plinker.
