I have Troy flip up buis and the standard magpul MBUS. I bought the mbus first and the troys for my second build. I like the troys better, they are excellent. BUT for my third build i'm going to use the mbus again. Why?

Because they're cheaper and they're just back up sights. Chances are i'll never have to use them. I can dream of SHTF scenarios where my aimpoints fail and i'll need buis, but something tells me if it comes to that scenario that i'll make do with my cheaper mbus sights.

    Just some food for thought.

I've had Magpuls, Troys, and Matech BUIS and I ultimately chose KAC micro BUIS as my go to sight. It's light, well constructed, easy to use built in range estimator and its low profile to clear scopes and optics.

Just got a set of MBUS Pros from the mailman today and am 100% happy with them. Fit, finish and profile all exceeded my wants and expectations. Not sure how well they perform and outside of zeroing them I hope to never find out.

I have the magpul mbus and they are ok, but I really like my friends Troy flip ups because the sight hole is bigger.

I've had the magpul polymers and the mbus pro steel sets, also have the troy m4 style front with tritium with both the dioptic and normal hole/peep non-tritium rears.

Out of all of them I was the most accurate with the magpul mbus pros and terrible with the troy m4 front with the dioptic rear (lining up this setup was hard for me). Decided from now on to just stick with the magpul mbus pro simply because they are very good, require no tools to adjust and are very slim profile wise.

Also worth mentioning my eye sight isn't that great but I could barely even see the tritium on the front of the troy sights. If you are thinking of those they aren't even close to the level of brightness you'll get with tritium sights on handgun sights.

I like the KAC micro rears because of the easy elevation adjustment and the small peep sight. You can get these sights for cheap on ebay or in our market place the most I ever paid for one was around $70.

For the front I have Troy M4 with a tritium FSP. You'll realize the benefit of a tritium FS when your not able to see your FSP against a dark target when the sun is going down.

I've owned MBUS and Troys and there is no difference but preference. I did change the front post of one of my Troys to a chevron post and that helps a lot with shooting 100+ yards. But I don't like to center the front post through a peep hole, that's why I have the best sight picture and shoot better with....my AK sights! Real talk. I plink plates at 100 easier with notched sights. I just line up the front post with the rear notch and bam. Easy.

In fact, I just ordered a .034" front post for the AK and am going to buy a notched rear sight for the AR and dump the Troys. Be on the lookout for them in the market place.

My solution was a $1.50 copper metallic sharpie
