    Finally Got One! .308

Literally have been looking for a stripped lower (.308) for years for a decent price. Today I am happy to say that I finally bought a .308 lower for $88 minus DROS. Got the PSA PTAC 10 .308 stripped lower.

Could care less about how the roll mark looks. As long as its made out of forged aluminum and machined properly. Which it seems to be.

Curious as to what size barrel and scope to put on this beast. Any suggestions?

Both depend on what use you're going to put it to.

Just double checking as I did the research before buying, but saw many mixed answers.

The PTAC IS DPMS compatible right? LR-308 platform?

That looks like a DPMS type rifle. An Armalite type rifle has a 45-degree cut at the back, and the DPMS has a curved shape at the back.

I'm pretty sure, based on what I've read here, that only PSA uppers will work with a PSA lower.

If it were me and I intended to use it for hunting I'd get a stainless 18" barrel. Nice to have extra velocity to ensure all softpoint bullets will expand reliably.

i would get a 20" barrel. a little bit more velocity and get it in a stainless barrel. scope...for hunting, maybe a 2-10x. but i would prefer a 4-16x

vortex pst are nice for the price.

What about the other way around...will a PSA lower work with other uppers? Is it an issue with the upper only fitting on their lowers or vise versa?

how much was your out of state transfer fee ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I bought it online, and called Ammo Bros in Cerritos and if I can remember its $25 for dros and another 20 for dealer transfer. I'll get back to you when I pick it up.

Hate to tell you this, but last time I transfered there, and according to current info on their website, transfer is $75 PLUS dros. If it's not to late you may want to find another receiving ffl.
