    Range Results for GSG-5

Well on Sunday I got out to The Manteca Sportsman range to give my new GSG-5 a range test. I used Federal 36 grain HP Copper Tops and had no failures at all. The rifle functioned perfectly. After a couple of magazine full shots to sight the Walther PS22 Red Dot Scope in, I started to get good results. All shots where on the 50yd range. Here is a photo of my rifle and a 10 shot group. I'm very satisfied with the rifle and it's accuracy. I also brought my dedicated Spikes 22LR along just for comparison. I have to say the GSG-5 out shot the Spikes.

Oh yeah once again thanks to Ryan at JK Supply for getting my rifle for me and you're right, these rifles are great.

Pretty good - Wonder how she'll do out to 100 yards.

      Nice!!

It's pretty good out to 100 yds. I've hit soup cans consistently that far out.

I SOOO wanted one - I had a deposit on one at Rettings but when it came in I just didn't like the way it felt -- the screw instead of push pin hold the buttstock on, it just didn't feel enough like the H&Ks (I had ALL of them) that I sold away when the ban hit.

                I'm getting a dedicated 22 from Spikes.

                  X-NYer,

Next time you're going out shooting on that piece of land your friend owns, PM me a day or two before hand and we'll see if I can get out there to let you shoot mine. I live less than 5 miles from there so, it's no big deal for me to drop it by if I'm not working.

Just picked mine up today & will take it to the range this weekend for a flogging! The handguard feels like a toy & the stock kinda sucks but it seems pretty solid otherwise. Plus it will pay for itself in no time vs shooting all day with .223 or .308!

Just for the record, once again in my opinion my GSG-5 out shot my Spikes and I love my Spikes and have a ton of $ in it. My Spikes had several FTF and FTE stove pipes after 100 or so rounds this past Sunday. I've attached a photo of my Spikes and a photo of my target from a month or so ago with my Spikes. For those of you who don't like or hate the GSG-5 it's your loss. That way for those of us who like and enjoy this rifle there will be more available. Yes it would be really nice to have a solid stock but we can make ours better until such time there are better ones on the market. Compare the targets and the Spikes just couldn't keep the shots in close and the GSG-5 held much better accruarcy. Just my 2 cents.
